Top 3 Reasons We Love This
1. Finally somewhere proper to put your dryrobe® — great for
storing it at home, keeping it together in the car or chucking it
in the van without it taking over everything
2. The compression valve and straps squash a bulky changing robe
down to around half its normal packed size, making travelling with
your dryrobe® considerably easier
3. Once your dryrobe® is packed inside it makes a surprisingly good
makeshift pillow — ideal for camping, festivals, surf trips or
grabbing some sleep in the van!
Product Description
The dryrobe® Compression Travel Bag is one of those accessories
that makes complete sense once you own a dryrobe®. Changing robes
are brilliant, but they're deliberately big, warm and bulky — which
isn't always ideal when you're trying to store one at home or
squeeze everything into the car for a weekend away.
This 33L compression bag gives your dryrobe® a proper home. It's designed to comfortably accommodate any size dryrobe® Advance or Towel dryrobe®, making it ideal for storage, travelling, camping, festivals, watersports trips or simply keeping your changing robe neatly packed in the car.
The clever bit is the external compression valve. Put your robe inside, roll and clip the top closed, open the valve and squash the air out of the bag. You can literally kneel on it to force the excess air out. Pull the compression straps tight, close the valve and you've turned a big fluffy changing robe into a much more manageable package.
At full size the bag measures approximately 60cm long by 30cm wide, but depending on the size of your robe and how tightly you compress it, dryrobe® say it can pack down to approximately half its original size.
The bag itself is made from 100% recycled nylon fabric and has a 10,000mm waterproof rating. That makes it really useful for keeping your kit contained and protected while travelling or sitting around the campsite, although it's important to remember that the bag isn't designed to be fully submerged.
There's also a padded shoulder strap, so once everything is compressed you can simply throw it over your shoulder and carry it. And here's the slightly unofficial bonus: with a big soft dryrobe® compressed inside, it actually makes a pretty decent pillow. Not necessarily the reason you'd buy one, but surprisingly useful when you're camping, sleeping in the van or waiting around at an event.

How Does The Compression System Work?
Using it couldn't really be much easier. Put your dryrobe® inside
the bag, roll the top over and clip it closed. Open the external
air valve and then start compressing the bag — kneeling on it is
genuinely one of the easiest ways to squeeze the air out.
Once you've got most of the air out, tighten the compression straps to hold everything in place and then close the valve. The result is a significantly smaller and easier-to-manage package than trying to fold your dryrobe® into a conventional bag.
How small it'll ultimately go depends on the size and style of dryrobe® you've put inside and how aggressively you've compressed it, but dryrobe® state that the bag can reduce to approximately half its original size.
Perfect For Storage & Travel
The obvious use is travelling. If you've ever tried packing a
full-size dryrobe® into a car that's already full of surfboards,
wetsuits and everyone's weekend kit, you'll know how quickly it
eats into your available space.
Compressing it into this bag makes the robe considerably easier to squeeze into the boot, roof box, campervan or luggage.
But we'd actually use it just as much for everyday storage. Rather than having your dryrobe® hanging over a door, stuffed into a cupboard or floating around the back of the car, you've got a dedicated bag that keeps everything together and ready for the next trip.
Expert Advice
If you've already got a dryrobe®, this is one of those accessories
that solves its biggest downside: they're massive when
you're not wearing them.
That's obviously part of what makes a dryrobe® so good — there's loads of material, insulation and room inside — but when you're trying to pack the car for a weekend away, suddenly everyone's changing robes seem to occupy half the boot.
The compression valve is what makes this much more useful than simply buying another big stuff sack. Getting the excess air out allows you to properly squash the robe down and then use the straps to keep it there.
It's brilliant for surf trips, open-water swimming, camping, festivals, sporting events and campervan weekends. We'd also happily use one just for storing a dryrobe® at home during the warmer months.
And the pillow thing genuinely works. Don't expect hotel levels of comfort, but if you've got a soft changing robe compressed inside, you've basically created a big padded cushion. Chuck it behind your head in the van or take it into the tent and that's one less thing you need to pack.
Q & A
Q: Will my dryrobe® Advance fit inside?
A: Yes. dryrobe® state that the Compression Travel Bag will
comfortably accommodate any size of dryrobe® Advance.
Q: Will it fit a Towel dryrobe®?
A: Yes. It's also designed to accommodate dryrobe® Towel changing
robes.
Q: How much does it actually compress the
robe?
A: It depends on the size and type of robe and how tightly you
compress it, but dryrobe® state that the bag can pack down to
approximately half its original size.
Q: How do I get the air out?
A: Open the external valve after you've rolled and clipped the bag
shut, then squash the bag to force the air out. Kneeling on it
works particularly well. Tighten the compression straps and then
close the valve.
Q: Is the bag waterproof?
A: The fabric has a 10,000mm waterproof rating, making it highly
water resistant and suitable for wet outdoor environments. However,
dryrobe® specifically state that the bag is not submersible.
Q: Can I use it as a dry bag?
A: We'd primarily use it as a compression, storage and travel bag
rather than treating it as a fully waterproof dry bag. It should
not be submerged.
Q: Is it useful just for storing my dryrobe® at
home?
A: Definitely. In fact, that's one of our favourite uses for it. It
gives your changing robe a dedicated place to live rather than
taking up loads of space in a cupboard or the back of the car.
Q: Does it have a shoulder strap?
A: Yes. A padded shoulder strap is included, so you can carry the
compressed bag over your shoulder.
Q: What size is the bag?
A: It's approximately 60cm long and 30cm wide before compression,
with a 33-litre capacity.
Q: What is it made from?
A: The bag is made from 100% recycled nylon fabric approved by the
Global Recycle Standard (GRS).
Q: Is it good for camping and festivals?
A: Yes. Being able to compress a bulky changing robe makes it much
easier to pack, and the robe can then be pulled out whenever you
need an oversized warm layer around camp.
Q: Can I actually use it as a pillow?
A: It's not officially a pillow, but with a soft dryrobe® packed
inside we'd absolutely use it as one. For a tent, campervan, car
journey or post-surf nap, it does the job surprisingly well.
Q: Can I put other things in it?
A: Although it's designed around dryrobe® changing robes, it's
essentially a 33L compression travel bag, so it can also be useful
for compressing other suitable soft and bulky kit when
travelling.

Size Guide
A dryrobe® is not your average fit! The dryrobe® Advance is designed to be large and loose enough for you to pull your arms inside and get changed. If you’re more likely to be wearing it as a fitted coat, we recommend dropping down a size from what you usually wear. To help you choose, there are two size guides below.
Height is the main factor in choosing the size for a dryrobe® Advance. If you find yourself on the cusp of a size, please refer to the waist/dress size for the best fit for your intended use.
