Top 3 Reasons We Love This
1. A really handy compact dry bag — 20 litres is perfect for a towel, swimming kit, phone, wallet and a change of clothes without carrying a big watersports bag
2. Great for keeping your essentials protected around the water, but equally useful for chucking wet swimming kit or smaller bits of wet gear inside afterwards
3. Much more versatile than a basic dry sack — the removable straps can be used over your shoulder or as simple backpack straps, with a dedicated Session Backpack available if you want proper padded straps

Product Description
The C-Skins Session 20L Dry Bag is the smaller, lighter option in the Session range and a brilliant choice when you simply want to keep your everyday essentials protected around the water without taking a massive kit bag with you.

At 20 litres, it's particularly well suited to open-water swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing and beach trips. There's useful room for a towel, swimming kit, change of clothes and your smaller essentials, while the compact shape makes it easy to carry around or throw into a car, van or boat.

The waterproof construction uses welded seams to help keep water out when you're protecting dry gear — or keep wet gear contained inside after you've finished. That makes it just as useful after a swim as it is beforehand.

The easy-access roll-top gives you a large opening for loading your kit. Once everything's inside, simply roll the top down and secure it.

There's also an elasticated external stash pocket for smaller items you want within easy reach rather than buried at the bottom of the main compartment.

The removable webbing straps give you several ways to carry the bag. Sling it over one shoulder, configure the straps for simple backpack-style carry or remove them completely when you don't need them. A grab handle at the top makes it easy to quickly pick up and move around.

C-Skins also make a dedicated Session Dry Bag Backpack with proper padded, adjustable shoulder straps. This standard Session can be worn on your back, but we'd consider the webbing straps better for shorter distances and occasional backpack use. If carrying comfort is your priority, the dedicated Backpack is the better option.

Why Choose The 20L?
The 20L is really about keeping things compact. If you don't need to carry a complete wetsuit setup, there's no reason to drag a 40 or 60-litre bag around with you.

For open-water swimming, it's a really useful size. You can carry a towel, swimming kit, change of clothes and your everyday essentials while still having a bag that's easy to manage.

It's also brilliant for SUP, kayaking and sailing when you want somewhere waterproof for clothing and valuables but don't need loads of capacity.

For surfing, we'd consider this more of an essentials or summer-kit bag rather than something for a complete winter setup. Once you start adding a thick wetsuit, boots, gloves, hood and towel, we'd definitely move up to one of the larger Session sizes.

Which Session Size?
The range gives you plenty of choice depending on how much gear you normally carry.

20L: Swimming, valuables, towels, spare clothes and compact watersports setups.
30L: Swimming, summer wetsuits and lighter everyday watersports kit.
40L: Wetsuit, towel and a more complete everyday setup.
60L: Bulky winter wetsuits, boots, gloves, hood and plenty of changing gear.

If you're mainly buying a dry bag to keep your essentials protected while swimming, paddling or sailing, the 20L is probably all the space you actually need.

Great For Swimming & Paddlesports
We think the 20L makes particular sense for open-water swimmers and paddlers.

For swimming, arrive with your dry clothes and towel protected inside, get changed and then use the same bag to contain your wet swimming kit afterwards.

For SUP and kayaking, the compact size makes it easy to take with you while giving you somewhere waterproof for spare layers, food and other essentials.

It's also really useful on boats where space can be limited and you don't necessarily want a huge bag taking up room just to protect a few essentials.

Expert Advice
The temptation with dry bags is always to buy the biggest one, but sometimes a smaller bag is actually much more useful.

If you're swimming, paddleboarding or kayaking, you're often only trying to keep a towel, clothes and a few personal bits protected. A 20L bag is considerably easier to carry, store and take onto the water than a massive kit bag.

The removable straps are useful too. For a quick walk to the water you can set them up for backpack-style carry and keep both hands free. Just remember they're simple webbing straps rather than a proper padded harness.

If you're planning longer walks or specifically want something that feels like a normal backpack, we'd look at the dedicated C-Skins Session Backpack instead.

For a simple, tough and compact waterproof bag that you can keep in the car and use for loads of different watersports, the 20L is a really useful size.

Q & A

Q: How big is the C-Skins Session 20L?
A: It has a 20-litre capacity and measures approximately 61cm high when fully unrolled, 44cm when rolled closed and 22cm in diameter.

Q: What is the 20L size best for?
A: We'd particularly recommend it for open-water swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing and beach trips where you mainly want to protect your everyday essentials.

Q: Is 20L big enough for swimming?
A: Yes. It's a really useful swimming size with room for a towel, swimming kit, clothes and smaller essentials without being unnecessarily bulky.

Q: Can I fit a wetsuit inside?
A: It depends on the wetsuit and what else you're carrying. For a full wetsuit setup we'd generally recommend moving up to the 30L, 40L or 60L versions, particularly for bulky winter neoprene.

Q: Is the Session Dry Bag waterproof?
A: Yes. C-Skins describe it as waterproof and completely submersible when correctly closed, with welded waterproof seams.

Q: Can I put wet swimming kit inside afterwards?
A: Absolutely. The waterproof construction works both ways — keeping your dry kit protected beforehand and helping contain your wet kit afterwards.

Q: Can I use it as a backpack?
A: Yes. The removable webbing straps can be configured for simple backpack-style carry, which is useful when you need your hands free.

Q: Is this the dedicated Session Backpack?
A: No. This is the standard Session Dry Bag. C-Skins also make a dedicated backpack version with proper padded and adjustable shoulder straps for more comfortable longer-distance carrying.

Q: Can the straps be removed?
A: Yes. The webbing straps are completely removable.

Q: Does it have an external pocket?
A: Yes. There's an elasticated stash pocket for smaller items you want to keep easy to reach.

Q: Is it good for paddleboarding?
A: Yes. The compact 20L capacity is ideal when you want to carry spare clothing and essentials without taking an unnecessarily large bag.

Q: Is it suitable for kayaking and sailing?
A: Definitely. It's particularly useful where storage space is limited but you still need somewhere waterproof for clothing and personal kit.

Q: Should I buy the 20L or 30L?
A: Choose the 20L if you mainly want to carry swimming kit, a towel and everyday essentials. We'd move up to the 30L if you want more space for wetsuit gear or additional clothing.

Q: Is it easy to clean?
A: Yes. The tough outer material is designed to be wipe clean, making it ideal for sandy beaches, muddy riverbanks, boats and wet changing areas.
